Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a holistic form of manual medicine that focuses on total body health by assessing and treating the structural and functional mechanics of the body, including the joints, muscles, and spine. It is a treatment for a wide range of medical and orthopaedic conditions, such as back and neck pain, joint or muscular pain, as well as shoulder, hip, and knee pain. Osteopathy can also help with headaches, TMJ dysfunction, sleeping difficulty, pregnancy related musculoskeletal pain, as well as infant feeding difficulty such as colic, reflux or latching difficulty.

About NL Therapies

Nicole is a qualified osteopath who graduated with First Class Honours from the five-year Osteopathy degree programme at University of St Mark & St John. She is dedicated to providing professional, patient-centred care and takes a welcoming, supportive approach to helping individuals improve mobility, manage pain, and support their overall wellbeing.

Nicole’s interest in osteopathy began through a lifelong involvement in sport and movement. Growing up, she was involved in camogie with her local Ballygarvan GAA team, alongside hockey, cross-country running, swimming, and horse riding. She competed in eventing at both national and international level, achieving national U25 titles at 15 and 16 years old. Her passion for movement and performance was shaped through years of training and competition, but also through experiencing the physical demands that sport can place on the body.

Following a serious spinal injury, Nicole underwent a lengthy rehabilitation journey involving chronic pain and two spinal surgeries. This experience led her on a personal quest for knowledge and a deeper understanding of the body, recovery, and the many ways healing can be supported through the right treatment, movement, and strength training. Navigating her own journey through chronic pain inspired Nicole to pursue qualifications in physical therapy studies before progressing into osteopathy, where she developed a strong passion for helping others regain confidence in their bodies and movement.

Her own experiences with injury and rehabilitation have greatly shaped the way she treats her patients. Nicole understands how challenging pain, uncertainty, and recovery can feel, and she places a strong emphasis on listening carefully, building trust, and creating realistic, individualised treatment plans. She believes that successful treatment is about more than simply reducing pain — it is about helping people feel understood, supported, and confident in their ability to move and live well again.

In 2022, Nicole founded NL Therapies with the aim of combining osteopathy with a thorough understanding of the body and a comprehensive approach to treatment. She believes in looking at the complete picture when it comes to improving pain, restoring function, and supporting long-term wellbeing. Nicole is passionate about creating a comfortable environment where patients feel listened to, understood, and confident throughout their treatment journey, while empowering them with the knowledge and support needed to move well and feel their best.
